Symptoms

Smart View will not connect to the HFM Office Provider.

Error 

When you put the Smart View url into a web browser, you get a blank screen.  On your webserver, if you type

http://localhost/hfmofficeprovider/hfmofficeprovider.aspx

If you get a blank screen then you are experiencing the below issue.

Changes

Installed PSU 102 for Hyperion Financial Management, on a patched 11.1.2.1.0 environment.  

Cause

Certain configuration files are not replaced on install.   This would only occur on a system that had previous patches installed prior to applying PSU 102. 

PSU 102 was re-issued to correct this problem.

Solution

To resolve this you will need to run the EPM System Configurator and reconfigure the HFM Smart View Provider

  1. Launch the EPM Configurator on your HFM Web Server
  2. Uncheck the “Check All” Box
  3. Expand “Financial Management”
  4. Check “Configure Web Server”
  5. Click Next
  6. Uncheck everything BUT “Configure IIS to Enable Smart View Provider”
  7. Click Next 2 times, then you are finished.
